Ciel Home Bar Home Bar

Ciel Home Bar Home Bar is an innovative and sophisticated home bar design that exemplifies the fusion of mid-century automotive aesthetics with contemporary functionality. Created by Dutch designer Bahram Salour, this distinctive piece challenges traditional cabinet design conventions through its elongated, low-profile silhouette inspired by 1960s and early 1970s American automotive design. The bar's most notable feature is its motorized elevating platform, which dramatically reveals an array of liquor bottles at the touch of a button, embodying the sophisticated automation reminiscent of classic spy films. Measuring 2726 mm in width, 550 mm in depth, and 677 mm in height, the design incorporates a steel frame construction complemented by red lacquered solid wood doors, high-gloss red lacquered MDF top and back, and chromed steel legs and door trim. The functionality extends beyond its striking appearance, featuring a built-in dual temperature zone wine cooler capable of storing 20 bottles, three vertical sliding beverage glass cases accommodating up to 30 glasses, and dedicated storage space for bar accessories. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, represents a thoughtful solution to modern storage challenges while maintaining aesthetic sophistication. The bar's innovative approach to concealment and revelation, combined with its comprehensive storage solutions and careful material selection, demonstrates a masterful balance between form and function, making it a significant contribution to contemporary furniture design.
