Cibo Vita Office

Cibo Vita Office is an award-winning interior space design project that exemplifies the integration of biophilic design principles with contemporary workplace functionality, spanning 3200 square meters in New Jersey and completed between February and May 2024. This office environment represents a sophisticated synthesis of wellness-oriented spatial planning, sustainable material selection, and brand-aligned aesthetic expression, designed specifically for a consumer packaged goods manufacturer specializing in health-conscious snack products. The design framework prioritizes the incorporation of natural elements, utilizing wood as a primary structural and decorative material alongside extensive integration of living plants and green walls, creating an environment that fosters psychological well-being and productivity through direct connection with nature. The spatial organization employs an open-plan layout that facilitates interdepartmental collaboration while incorporating flexible workspaces and intimate breakout zones that accommodate both formal and informal interactions. A distinctive feature of Cibo Vita Office is its product trial island, positioned within the welcoming lobby area and constructed with a quartz countertop supported by metal framing, serving as an interactive engagement point that allows visitors and employees to experience the company's product offerings firsthand. The color palette consists of soft pastel tones strategically deployed throughout the environment to stimulate energy, creativity, and motivation while maintaining a sense of calm conducive to focused work. An educational center within the facility functions as a dynamic hub for knowledge sharing and collaborative creativity, equipped with acoustic panels in complementary pastel hues that enhance both aesthetic cohesion and functional sound management. The material strategy extends beyond wood and glass to include low volatile organic compound finishes and energy-efficient LED lighting systems, demonstrating a commitment to environmental sustainability and occupant health that aligns with the client's corporate values regarding wellness and responsible manufacturing. The design team, consisting of Enes Cicekci and Seda Dundar working under Arkiteam Architecture, addressed significant challenges in balancing the client's vibrant brand identity with the practical requirements of a functional office environment, necessitating careful consideration of spatial flow, material durability, and the integration of interactive elements within a cohesive biophilic framework. The organic circulation patterns throughout Cibo Vita Office promote seamless movement between different functional zones, with each area designed to be adaptable for various activities while maintaining visual and experiential continuity through consistent application of natural materials and carefully calibrated color relationships. The project's research foundation explored the intersection of biophilic design theory with brand identity expression, examining how natural materials and living elements could enhance employee well-being while vibrant yet soothing color applications could inspire energy and focus without overwhelming the senses. Cibo Vita Office received the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2025, one of the world's most prestigious design competitions, recognizing the project's excellence in innovative space utilization, material selection, functional layout design, and sustainable design practice. This recognition acknowledges the design's contribution to advancing interior design standards through its original approach to workplace wellness, its skillful integration of brand values into spatial experience, and its demonstration of how commercial interiors can simultaneously serve functional requirements and promote occupant health and satisfaction. The achievement reflects the design's success in creating a work environment that transcends conventional office typologies by embedding wellness principles into every aspect of the spatial experience, from material selection and color psychology to spatial organization and interactive programming, ultimately establishing a new paradigm for health-focused workplace design within the consumer goods manufacturing sector.
