Chubby Bird County Multifunctional Coffee Shop

Chubby Bird County Multifunctional Coffee Shop

Chubby Bird County Multifunctional Coffee Shop is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of British cultural elements with contemporary spatial design principles. Located in Taipei City and completed in 2016, this multifunctional space draws its conceptual inspiration from the British Robin, incorporating this theme through thoughtful design elements that create a sophisticated garden-like atmosphere. The establishment distinguishes itself through its unique spatial arrangement, where the counter area is strategically positioned to evoke the ambiance of a traditional British tea parlor, complemented by a mezzanine level that adds vertical dimension and visual interest. The design employs a carefully curated color palette dominated by grass-green, enhanced by ink-colored marble tables and golden accents, creating a luxurious yet fresh aesthetic environment. Notable features include symmetric windows and doors that establish visual harmony, antique furnishings including a specially imported 1920s writing desk from the United Kingdom, and Versailles bamboo rattan chairs that reinforce the European garden theme. The space efficiently utilizes its long, narrow layout by dividing it into distinct functional zones without physical barriers, instead employing lighting, accessories, and floor material variations to delineate different areas. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category successfully integrates office space, retail elements, and dining areas while maintaining visual continuity and operational efficiency, demonstrating exceptional skill in combining cultural aesthetics with practical functionality.
