Chuan San Hao Train Hotpot is an innovative interior design project that transforms authentic Chinese green-skinned train carriages into a sophisticated dining establishment, masterfully blending nostalgia with contemporary gastronomy. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning design, created by Yiming Zhu, reimagines the iconic railway carriages that served as China's primary mode of passenger transport for over five decades, preserving their historical significance while adapting them for modern dining purposes. The restaurant's design meticulously recreates a traditional train platform atmosphere through carefully curated elements including vintage station signs, antique clocks, and authentic ground markings. The interior showcases a refined approach to space utilization, featuring VIP and semi-private dining sections that accommodate varying levels of privacy and group sizes. The design's technical sophistication is evident in its dual exhaust systems, concealed ventilation, and integrated climate control solutions, all seamlessly incorporated within the original train structure. Situated along a wetland shoreline, the restaurant's strategic positioning maximizes scenic views through its windows, creating a harmonious connection between dining experience and natural surroundings. The project's innovative approach to spatial organization places the kitchen facilities in the central carriage, efficiently connecting the dining areas while maintaining operational discretion. The design demonstrates exceptional attention to environmental considerations through its insulation solutions and careful preservation of the original train's structural integrity, while the clean, subdued color palette enhances the vintage aesthetic.
