Choppoq Air Purifier is an innovative home appliance that seamlessly combines functionality with aesthetic appeal, drawing inspiration from traditional Iranian architecture, specifically the distinctive Sirjan wind catcher of Kerman. This sophisticated air purification device, designed by Mohammad Amin Abbaszadeh Sardehaei and Sanaz Aflaki, represents a thoughtful fusion of historical design elements with modern technology and contemporary needs. The purifier features a distinctive flowing form factor with dimensions of 162mm in length, 120mm in width, and 300mm in height, incorporating advanced filtration technology including nano-carbon filters and UV light treatment to effectively remove particulates, germs, and viruses from indoor air. The device's operational mechanism begins with air intake from the bottom, passing through multiple purification stages before releasing clean air through the top outlet. Distinguished by its minimal aesthetic and pastel color palette, the purifier doubles as a decorative object, making it particularly suitable for both home and office environments. The design, which garnered a Bronze A' Design Award in the Home Appliances Design category in 2021, showcases exceptional attention to user experience through features such as touch-sensitive controls, an ultra-silent brushless electric motor, and carefully engineered fan blades for quiet operation. Developed between April and August 2020 in Tehran, Iran, the Choppoq Air Purifier addresses contemporary urban air quality challenges while maintaining a strong connection to cultural heritage through its architectural inspiration.
