Chongqing Poster Bag is an innovative visual communication design project that uniquely combines cultural elements of Chongqing, China, with contemporary graphic design principles. This creative work, designed by Yueyang Mao, features a distinctive fusion of architectural landmarks, culinary heritage, and local fauna rendered in a sophisticated visual style. The design incorporates prominent Chongqing landmarks such as the Hongya Cave, Yangtze River Ropeway, and Chongqing Grand Theater, ingeniously merged with the iconic elements of Chongqing hot pot, creating a multi-layered narrative that celebrates the city's identity. The project demonstrates exceptional versatility in its application, with designs suitable for various formats including posters measuring 5400mm x 3900mm and bags sized at 180mm x 150mm x 55mm. The artistic composition cleverly integrates traditional Chinese elements such as the city flower, tiger patterns, and round square hole coins, particularly relevant to the Year of the Tiger theme. The design earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to cultural representation. The work's distinctive feature lies in its humorous and creative interpretation of local culture, particularly evident in the playful depiction of pandas interacting with hot pot ingredients, creating an engaging visual narrative that serves both decorative and informative purposes for various applications including airport displays and tourist information materials.
