Chien Residence II Private Residence

Chien Residence II Private Residence

Chien Residence II Private Residence is an award-winning interior design project completed in April 2017, located in Taoyuan, Taiwan, that exemplifies the harmonious integration of contemporary residential design principles with tranquil living spaces. The 220-square-meter apartment showcases a sophisticated approach to modern living through its thoughtful material selection and spatial arrangement, designed by David Hsiao and Pallas Wang to create a peaceful sanctuary for a busy professional. The design philosophy centers on the interplay between the calming properties of stone elements and the warm textures of wood, creating a balanced and elegant atmosphere throughout the space. Notable design features include dark grey mirrors at the entrance, stone tiles with brown layering on vertical surfaces, and carefully curated wooden textures applied to walls, cabinets, and furniture pieces, all working in concert to enhance the volumetric experience and thermal comfort of the interior. The neutral and mild color palette serves as a sophisticated backdrop, contributing to the space's elegant yet contemporary aesthetic. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2018, demonstrates exceptional achievement in spatial organization, material integration, and atmospheric design, particularly in its ability to create a restorative environment that addresses the specific needs of its resident, a successful businessman seeking respite from demanding work hours.
