Chenhow Marble Showroom is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the fusion of luxury stone exhibition and artistic spatial design, located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. This 1,280-square-meter showroom, completed in July 2020, represents a groundbreaking approach to marble display, earning recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. The design concept draws inspiration from Kaohsiung's maritime identity, incorporating golden arc iron frames and streamlined ceiling elements that evoke the image of a ship entering port. The space utilizes the inherent beauty of various marble specimens, treating each piece as an artistic element while highlighting their unique geological formations and patterns through strategic lighting design. The showroom's layout revolutionizes traditional stone exhibition spaces by positioning the office at the entrance, facilitating immediate customer interaction and demonstrating practical applications of stone in interior decoration. The design employs sophisticated lighting configurations that transform the space into a museum-like atmosphere, where curved golden iron elements frame the office space and streamlined light strips create a ceiling pattern reminiscent of ocean currents. This architectural narrative not only pays homage to traditional Oriental symbolism, where flowing water represents prosperity, but also establishes a new paradigm for luxury stone presentation in Taiwan's southern region. The project successfully overcomes the challenge of introducing high-end marble products to a pragmatic market through its thoughtful integration of local cultural elements and innovative display techniques.
