Chengdu Panggelia Restaurant Restaurant is an innovative interior design project completed in 2018, showcasing a bold fusion of Pop art style and contemporary restaurant design principles. Located in Chengdu, China, this 300-square-meter establishment represents a significant departure from traditional restaurant aesthetics, employing avant-garde design elements to create a space that resonates with fashion-conscious young consumers. The interior design, recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, features distinctive use of stainless steel materials, creating an expansive visual effect enhanced by sophisticated lighting systems that generate a modern street-style atmosphere. The space is characterized by its unique design elements, including skateboards, neon lights, laser-carved targets, and strategic use of yellow tape installations, which collectively contribute to a gaming-inspired aesthetic that appeals to contemporary youth culture. Rather than utilizing traditional spatial partitions, the design embraces an open-plan concept that maximizes the flow between different areas, creating a permeable, multifunctional environment that encourages social interaction. The restaurant's entrance is marked by a signature Pang Pang doll, designed as a limited-edition art toy that serves as both a brand identifier and a contemporary art installation. The project, completed under the direction of chief designer Qing Dong and assistant designer Yizhou Qian, demonstrates exceptional innovation in its approach to commercial interior design, successfully combining exaggerated graphical expressions with practical functionality to create a space that not only serves its primary purpose as a dining establishment but also functions as a cultural hub that reflects and shapes modern urban lifestyle preferences.
