Cat Wonderland Residential House

Cat Wonderland Residential House

Cat Wonderland Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of human living spaces with pet-friendly environments. Completed in September 2021 in Taipei City, Taiwan, this 116-square-meter apartment masterfully combines functionality with aesthetic excellence, featuring two bedrooms, one living room, one dining room, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a storeroom. The design, which earned an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, draws inspiration from the golden wheat fields of southern France, incorporating a sophisticated palette of milk tea, beige, and earth tones complemented by natural wood elements. The space is distinguished by its thoughtful incorporation of feline-specific features, including strategically placed cat caves, litter areas, and jumping platforms throughout the circulation paths. The interior's architectural elements showcase meticulous attention to detail, featuring wooden grooves arranged sequentially on walls, transparent glass elements that enhance natural light flow while maintaining privacy, and a sophisticated dimming system for precise illumination control. Notable design solutions include the removal of excessive kitchen cabinetry to maximize natural light penetration, and the implementation of seamless, easy-to-clean bathroom coating instead of traditional tiles. The entryway makes a distinctive statement with colorful terrazzo flooring enhanced by engravings of five cats, while the living room wall serves as an innovative cat playground with integrated jumping platforms and hiding spots. The bedroom design emphasizes tranquility through wooden elements with curved edges and carefully integrated orange-yellow light strips that create a warm, comfortable atmosphere.
