Casa PAL Private Home

Casa PAL Private Home

Casa PAL Private Home is an innovative residential architectural project located in Pordenone, northeastern Italy, that exemplifies sustainable design principles and contemporary living solutions. Designed by Italian architect Filippo Caprioglio, this sophisticated dwelling represents a remarkable transformation of an existing structure, maintaining its original foundations while introducing advanced wooden prefabrication technology. The project, completed in 2016, spans approximately 500 square meters across three levels plus a basement, featuring a distinctive volumetric extrusion in the form of a bow window system on the south facade. The design demonstrates exceptional spatial organization by inverting traditional residential layouts, positioning the living areas on the top floor and sleeping quarters on the first level, while dedicating the ground floor to a study, entrance, and auxiliary apartment. This Silver A' Design Award-winning project in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category showcases outstanding technological integration through its prefabricated wooden construction and comprehensive home automation systems. The residence's sustainable approach is evident in its energy-efficient design and careful material selection, resulting in significant energy consumption savings. The architectural composition successfully balances the preservation of family memories embedded in the original structure with contemporary functional requirements, achieved through the thoughtful recomposition of all four facades and internal spatial reorganization. The project's execution, spanning fourteen months from December 2014 to April 2016, demonstrates meticulous attention to construction methodology and sustainable building practices, establishing new standards in residential architecture.
