Casa As Retreats Residential House
Casa as Retreats Residential House is an exemplary residential interior design project completed in 2019 in Taipei City, Taiwan, that masterfully balances luxury accommodation with practical functionality. This sophisticated 109-square-meter dwelling serves multiple purposes as both a temporary residence for its owner and an elegant guest house for distinguished visitors. The design philosophy emphasizes creating a harmonious retreat that caters to the specific needs of a busy executive while maintaining the capacity to host high-level social gatherings. The interior architecture thoughtfully divides the space into public and private domains, with the public areas featuring American-style furniture complemented by outdoor brick flooring that eliminates the need for shoe removal, reflecting cultural sensitivity and practical convenience. The private quarters encompass a master bedroom suite and a guest room with elevated flooring, offering versatile usage options for family members. Notable design elements include the innovative use of hand-rusty iron components and a sophisticated wood-skin facade wall featuring natural scratch stacking of varying thicknesses, creating an intentional contrast with the owner's refined demeanor. The material selection prioritizes easy maintenance, incorporating glazed fine porcelain stoneware, wallpaper, and laminate flooring. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional space optimization and thoughtful circulation planning, particularly in managing guest flow during social events. The design team's approach, guided by the Chinese philosophy that technology always comes from human nature, successfully creates an environment that fulfills both practical requirements and aesthetic aspirations.
