Canterbury Residential House

Canterbury Residential House

Canterbury Residential House is an innovative residential architectural project completed in 2021 in Taiwan, exemplifying a sophisticated approach to multi-style interior design within a single dwelling. This 350-square-meter residence, designed by Huang Henghsin, masterfully integrates multiple distinct design aesthetics across six rooms spread over multiple floors, creating a unique living environment that caters to diverse social interactions and lifestyle preferences. The design philosophy centers on the harmonious incorporation of contemporary luxury, Indian classical, Japanese Zen, and elegant American classic styles, each thoughtfully allocated to different functional spaces. The property features a strategically designed garage with modern linear elements and dynamic lighting on the first floor, a second-floor living area with a four-meter dining table for social gatherings, a private master bedroom on the third floor, and specialized themed spaces on the upper levels including a Japanese-style courtyard and an Indian antique-inspired reading room. The material palette demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, incorporating fire-resistant decorative materials, moisture-resistant boards, veneer wood boards, solid wood elements, and imported hardware, among other premium finishes. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases innovative space utilization and sophisticated design solutions that address the unique challenge of maintaining visual coherence while presenting distinct atmospheric experiences throughout the residence.
