Café Center Table

Café Center Table

Café Center Table is an innovative piece of furniture design that exemplifies the convergence of cultural symbolism and contemporary aesthetics through its distinctive asymmetric form inspired by coffee beans, a significant cultural symbol of Brazil. This center table, crafted with meticulous attention to detail, features a unique sculptural silhouette that challenges traditional furniture design conventions while maintaining functional practicality. The table's dimensions of 1210 mm in width, 480 mm in depth, and 300 mm in height create an imposing presence in living spaces, while its hollow interior construction ensures practical mobility despite its substantial appearance. The design process involved extensive research and development, beginning with hand sketches and progressing through 3D modeling and prototyping phases before the final realization in concrete. This material choice introduces an intriguing contrast between brutalist architectural elements and organic, flowing forms, resulting in a timeless aesthetic quality. The table's design excellence has been recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to materials, aesthetic appeal, and cultural significance. The piece successfully bridges the gap between functional furniture and sculptural art, offering a contemporary interpretation of Brazil's coffee-producing heritage while demonstrating how cultural narratives can be effectively translated into tangible design elements. Its unique properties extend beyond mere functionality, creating a compelling focal point that prompts viewer contemplation and adds distinctive character to interior spaces.
