Breezy Hill Residential House
Breezy Hill Residential House is an exemplary architectural masterpiece located in Beitou, Taiwan, that harmoniously integrates residential spaces with commercial hot spring facilities through innovative design principles and thoughtful spatial organization. This 23,027-square-meter structure, completed in 2016, stands as a testament to contemporary architectural excellence, distinguished by its striking exterior featuring slanted walls and an imaginatively carved entrance that evokes cave-like formations, creating an inviting atmosphere while maintaining a majestic presence in the urban landscape. The design ingeniously separates the commercial hot spring facilities on the ground floor from the residential units above, ensuring privacy while maximizing spatial efficiency. The building's sophisticated interior architecture incorporates systematic decorations of stone tree wells, wall columns, and strategically placed ceiling windows that create an orderly yet dynamic environment. A notable feature is the sunken lounge in the front courtyard, equipped with folding doors that seamlessly extend indoor spaces to the outdoor environment, while mirror ceilings reflect both interior and exterior scenes, creating an engaging interplay of light and space. The landscape design demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, featuring meticulously scaled stone walls, grasslands, waterscape elements, and stone pathways that enhance the building's material qualities while intensifying visual perception. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2019, showcases innovative space utilization through its sophisticated height transitions, elegant design solutions, and the complementary relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces, all while maintaining high standards of functionality and aesthetic appeal.
