Box in Box Office is an innovative interior design concept that revolutionizes traditional office spaces through a sophisticated arrangement of interconnected spatial volumes. Designed by Wangsi Chen and implemented across 6,084 square meters, this architectural intervention employs a distinctive box within box methodology, where various functional spaces are conceptualized as independent volumes nested within larger containers. The design philosophy emphasizes dynamic spatial relationships through varying heights, overlapping elements, and interconnected zones, creating a harmonious balance between communication, interaction, and functionality. The project, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases a masterful integration of modern workplace requirements with creative spatial planning. The interior features a thoughtfully curated material palette including wood veneers, dark grey painted aluminum sheets, carpets, and aluminum squares, while bright colors and ergonomic considerations form the spatial keynote. The design's innovative approach to public spaces emphasizes functional diversity through serialized circulation patterns and interdependent box spaces, with carefully orchestrated lighting gradients complemented by vibrant yellow and blue accents against metallic textures. A notable feature is the sandwich-style design of the coffee area, which facilitates enhanced interaction between different levels. The project, completed in April 2018, successfully addresses complex architectural challenges, particularly in the integration of suspended design elements with the existing steel structure, creating a contemporary co-working environment that seamlessly blends life and work while promoting scientific and technological innovation.
