BoBoX Modular Storage System

BoBoX Modular Storage System

BoBoX Modular Storage System is an innovative modular storage solution designed by Boryana Petrova and Vassil Jivkov that exemplifies contemporary approaches to flexible urban living through adaptable furniture design. This lightweight storage system, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, represents a significant advancement in modular furniture construction through its tool-free assembly methodology and innovative connecting elements. The system employs 9mm birch plywood panels, available in both natural waxed and soft-touch HPL laminated finishes, combined with highly-durable bio-based PLA 3D-printed connectors to create versatile storage configurations. Its distinctive design allows for unlimited vertical and horizontal expansion possibilities, featuring multifunctional connecting elements that secure joints while facilitating the installation of doors and back panels at any position without requiring complete disassembly. The system's structural components consist of precisely dimensioned panels (320x320mm and 320x640mm) and innovative L, T, and X-shaped connectors, enabling users to create customized storage solutions adaptable to various spatial requirements. The design's emphasis on sustainability is evident in its material selection and construction methodology, allowing for easy separation of components for recycling at the end of the product's lifecycle. This storage system particularly distinguishes itself through its ability to accommodate subsequent modifications, such as the addition or repositioning of doors and back panels, without compromising the integrity of the assembled structure, making it especially suitable for dynamic contemporary living spaces, offices, student accommodations, and public environments.
