Bel Gusto Packaging

Bel Gusto Packaging

Bel Gusto Packaging is an innovative packaging design solution that exemplifies the fusion of traditional Italian pasta heritage with contemporary visual storytelling through a distinctive postal-themed aesthetic approach. Created by Ukrainian designer Olga Takhtarova, this sophisticated packaging system employs carefully curated design elements including postage stamps, official postal marks, and hand-drawn illustrations of historical Italian landmarks to establish a unique brand narrative that connects consumers with the authentic Italian origins of the product. The design, which won the Silver A' Design Award in Packaging Design category, features a thoughtfully implemented viewing window that allows consumers to examine the product quality directly, while the primary kraft paper-inspired color palette reinforces both the postal parcel concept and emphasizes the natural, premium quality of the contents. The packaging's sophisticated typography combines capitalized text to convey brand authority with calligraphic elements that add premium appeal, while a strategic color-coding system facilitates product differentiation within the line. Manufactured using PET film with CMYK and PANTONE color systems enhanced by selective varnish application, the design spans various pasta shapes including Penne, Conchiglie, Fusilli, Spaghetti, and Cavatappi, with standardized dimensions of 380 x 250 mm for most variants. This comprehensive rebranding initiative successfully modernized the product's market presence while maintaining its connection to Italian culinary traditions, demonstrating how strategic design thinking can elevate brand perception and enhance consumer engagement through meaningful visual storytelling.
