Created by designer Chuan Yeo and the creative team at a Singapore-based design agency, this distinguished gift set comprises a meticulously crafted ensemble including a pouch, paper carrier bag, red packets, and carrier box, each adorned with traditional motifs commonly found on imperial porcelain. The design, measuring 250mm x 30mm x 150mm, masterfully incorporates lotus flowers and peaches, symbols representing purity and longevity in Chinese culture, rendered through innovative UV spot treatment to recreate the characteristic glossy finish of porcelain. This thoughtful creation, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category, demonstrates exceptional attention to environmental consciousness through its use of eco-friendly materials, including sustainable paper and leather components. The design successfully overcame significant challenges, including working within a restricted color palette of festive red and gold while avoiding zodiac animal representations, yet maintaining cultural authenticity and auspicious symbolism. The project, completed in January 2021 for distribution in Singapore and Hong Kong, represents a sophisticated approach to cultural gift-giving, combining traditional aesthetics with modern sustainability practices, and demonstrates how contemporary design can respectfully interpret and preserve cultural heritage while meeting the sophisticated expectations of modern luxury presentation.
