2402 Flat Residential House

2402 Flat Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies modern minimalist living through thoughtful spatial reorganization and material selection. Located on the 24th floor of a residential building, this 89-square-meter apartment was meticulously designed to cater to a young couple's needs for functionality and contemporary aesthetics. The design philosophy draws inspiration from Taoist principles of simplicity and essence, manifested through the strategic replacement of concrete walls with wood and glass folding doors to create a more expansive, light-filled environment. The interior's layout underwent significant reconstruction to maximize natural ventilation and sunlight penetration, featuring an open-plan concept that connects various living spaces through flexible sliding partitions. The material palette predominantly consists of wood and marble, creating a harmonious balance between warmth and sophistication, while the thoughtful integration of orange-brown upholstery, black grilles, and grey marble introduces urban vibrancy to the space. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design, demonstrates exceptional space optimization by transforming three rooms into two multifunctional spaces, including a spacious master suite with an integrated wardrobe and a versatile guest room that doubles as a reading and music room. The design's success lies in its ability to achieve both aesthetic and practical objectives through careful consideration of natural elements, material selection, and spatial planning, resulting in a living environment that promotes both comfort and contemporary urban living.
