2019 Admissions Welcome Package DGUT Freshman Admission Notice Gift Box

2019 Admissions Welcome Package DGUT Freshman Admission Notice Gift Box is an innovative educational welcome package design that exemplifies the integration of cultural symbolism with practical functionality in academic communications. This sophisticated packaging design, created by visual designer Ruikang Xie, employs the metaphor of natural growth processes, culminating in the fruiting stage represented by the indigenous Lingnan lychee motif, which symbolizes regional identity and educational maturation. The design incorporates multiple interactive elements, including a die-cut box featuring partially concealed lychee patterns, and a wooden postcard that can be transformed into a three-dimensional pendant through laser engraving technology. The comprehensive package contains various carefully curated items including an atlas of revolutionary tourism attractions, badges, stickers, postcards, and vehicle passes, all designed to facilitate student orientation and foster institutional connection. The project, which garnered a Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, demonstrates exceptional attention to humanistic details and systematic design thinking. Its visual narrative effectively combines patriotic themes with youth-oriented aesthetics, utilizing the symbolic pronunciation of lychee ('lizhi' in Chinese) to convey messages of encouragement and national unity. The design's innovative approach to traditional admission documentation transforms a simple administrative process into an engaging, multifaceted welcome experience that promotes cultural understanding and student engagement through thoughtful material choices and interactive design elements.
