2018 Welcome Package DGUT Freshman Admission Notice Gift Box

2018 Welcome Package DGUT Freshman Admission Notice Gift Box is an innovative educational welcome package design that exemplifies the integration of cultural symbolism with practical functionality in academic communications. This meticulously crafted admission package, which won the Bronze A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category, represents a sophisticated approach to student engagement through thoughtful design elements and cultural storytelling. The design incorporates the local city flower, michelia alba, both as a visual motif and physical element, presenting it in a specially designed bottle within the package. Measuring 360x260x55mm, the package utilizes a pull-out box mechanism that reveals a comprehensive collection of carefully curated items including a canvas bag, notebook, pen bag, and cultural atlases. The package's distinctive feature lies in its dual drifting bottles concept - one containing dried michelia alba flowers and another holding 5000 handwritten messages from faculty and senior students, creating a profound connection between incoming students and their new academic community. The design's visual language seamlessly integrates traditional Chinese typography with contemporary graphic elements, particularly evident in the stylized interpretation of the Chinese character Guan. This welcome package, developed in 2018, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its material selection and assembly, while effectively communicating local cultural heritage through its thoughtful inclusion of cultural maps and location-specific information about art museums and cultural sites.
