07:25 Eyewear is an innovative eyewear design that uniquely combines wood and metal materials, representing a significant advancement in wooden eyewear construction and aesthetics. Created by designers Byoengchan Oh and Chihyun Son, this distinctive design draws inspiration from the visual parallel between watch faces and eyeglass frames, incorporating a sophisticated metallic rim system that serves both functional and aesthetic purposes. The design features walnut wood as its primary material, complemented by titanium components, addressing traditional limitations of wooden eyewear through innovative engineering. The metallic rim system not only reinforces the wooden frame's structural integrity but also facilitates easy lens replacement, solving a common challenge in wooden eyewear design. The dimensions of 148mm width, 154mm depth, and 52mm height are carefully calculated for optimal ergonomic comfort. The design's most distinctive feature lies in its watch-inspired aesthetic, where the metallic rims on the right and left lenses respectively represent hour and minute hands, creating a sophisticated visual narrative that earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Jewelry Design category. The development process, spanning from August 2016 to July 2017, involved comprehensive research including positioning analysis, prototyping with advanced manufacturing techniques such as water jet cutting and 3D printing, and extensive user experience studies to ensure both functionality and comfort.
