Augustus Side Board is an award-winning furniture design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of natural materials and contemporary aesthetics. Created by interior designer Mehmet ilker Duruoglu, this sophisticated piece emerged from extensive research into modern lifestyles, contemporary furniture trends, and human behavioral patterns. The sideboard's distinctive design features a body crafted from MDF with premium chestnut wood covering, enhanced through a specialized brushing technique that accentuates the wood's natural texture and grants a tactile dimension to the piece. The design incorporates three 60cm x 60cm doors with 6cm projections, creating an impressive visual statement, while the integration of perforated metal sheet elements in matt black finish introduces an intriguing interplay between opacity and transparency. The piece's dimensions of 18000mm width, 4600mm depth, and 7000mm height establish a commanding presence, while its functionality is enhanced through the implementation of high-quality soft-closing hinges. This furniture piece, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, represents a thoughtful balance between natural aesthetics and contemporary functionality, embodying principles of innovative material use, durability, and aesthetic sophistication.
