Adolf Abel

Adolf Abel was a celebrated German artist who achieved international fame in the late 19th century. His work is considered to represent the Symbolist and Impressionist movements and is characterized by its vivid use of color and the underlying meaning behind his brushstrokes. Abel was born in 1873 in Weimar and developed an early interest in art that saw him enroll in the Weimar Royal Academy of Art. There, he developed a reputation for his skill in landscape painting and was soon able to make a living as an independent artist. Abel's most famous works include 'The Pilgrimage of the Magi', 'Lunch with Friends' and 'The Sunset Symphony'. Abel is also known for his portraits, many of which were painted for wealthy patrons of the art world.
