Shard Mood Table is an innovative, transformable furniture piece that exemplifies versatile contemporary design through its unique geometric composition and dual functionality. Created by Bulgarian designer Tsvetan Petkov, this distinctive table consists of two identical triangular parts that can be assembled in different configurations to serve either as a coffee table or a bar-height table, making it particularly suitable for dynamic hospitality environments and adaptable living spaces. The design emerged from an intuitive creative process involving paper folding experiments, which led to its characteristic angular form and transformative capabilities. When configured as a coffee table, it measures 1020mm x 680mm x 440mm, while the bar-height arrangement stands at 500mm x 630mm x 900mm, with both versions maintaining a consistent material thickness of 30mm. Crafted primarily from solid oak wood, though adaptable to various materials including MDF and Corian, the table's innovative design allows for complete disassembly into six pieces, facilitating efficient storage and transportation.
