Max House House is an innovative office space design project completed in 2019 in Shunde, Guangdong, China, conceived as a creative workspace that harmoniously blends contemporary design with artistic elements. The design philosophy centers on the exploration of spatial relationships and user interaction, featuring dynamic architectural elements that create rhythmic variations in height and depth, reminiscent of musical compositions. The interior space incorporates Japanese-inspired elements, including a minimalist rock garden with moss and stones at the reception area, complemented by contemporary art installations that foster emotional connections between occupants and their environment. The design's distinctive features include strategically placed circular and semicircular forms, copper accents, and thoughtfully integrated art pieces throughout the space. The layout encompasses various functional zones, including an open-plan office area concealed behind dark curtains, a sophisticated meeting room with carefully curated artwork displays, and a modern bar area featuring a combination of metal and marble elements. The project, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning that prioritizes both functionality and aesthetic appeal, while maintaining a strong focus on creating an environment that nurtures creativity and workplace wellbeing. The design successfully challenges conventional office layout paradigms by incorporating artistic elements as integral components of daily work life, rather than mere decorative additions, resulting in a space that serves as both a functional workplace and an inspiring art gallery.
