British Charm Residential Space

British Charm Residential Space is an award-winning residential interior design project that masterfully blends British industrial style with contemporary comfort, completed in November 2019 in Keelung, Taiwan. This 100-square-meter space, designed by Hsin-Hui Chang and Liang-Chun Kuo, exemplifies a sophisticated balance between industrial aesthetics and domestic warmth through its thoughtful material selection and spatial arrangement. The design features distinctive elements such as red brick walls paired with dark-colored furnishings in the public areas, creating a sedate yet striking atmosphere. The space incorporates black iron shelving systems and architectural-concrete panels that reinforce the industrial theme while maintaining residential comfort. A notable innovation is the Japanese-style room partitioned by an iron net wall, which includes an adjustable table to accommodate multiple functions, from storage to social gatherings. The master bedroom showcases an irregular white headboard design complemented by vivid blue walls and gold ceiling fixtures, demonstrating the designers' expertise in layering aesthetics. The implementation of a sliding TV wall system maximizes space efficiency and storage capabilities. This residential project, which earned an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2021, represents a significant achievement in contemporary residential design, particularly in its successful integration of seemingly contrasting elements - industrial rawness and domestic comfort - to create a cohesive and welcoming living environment.
