Blooming City Sales Center is an exemplary architectural and interior design project that masterfully integrates Lingnan cultural heritage with contemporary design principles. Completed in July 2022 in Guangzhou, this 1,450-square-meter space represents a sophisticated fusion of traditional Chinese aesthetics and modern architectural innovation. Designed by Rey Yaw, an architectural design engineer with 13 years of experience, the project draws inspiration from the Pearl River system and traditional Lingnan architecture, incorporating these elements into a modern geometric framework. The space features innovative interpretations of historical elements, such as a reimagined Manchurian flower-window screen crafted from metal and acrylic rather than traditional wood and glass, demonstrating a thoughtful evolution of cultural motifs. The center's spatial organization revolves around key elements including an LED screen, stairs, water bar, and tea area, all unified by distinctive Guangdong cultural features. The design employs a carefully curated selection of materials including artistic paint, environmentally friendly coiled materials, wood veneer, artificial stone, stainless steel, and artistic glass. A notable feature is the incorporation of the Zhuzai IP design concept, which modernizes Guangdong tea culture through contemporary graphic design. The project, which won the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies the principle of inside sealing and exterior opening, characteristic of Lingnan architectural tradition, while successfully addressing modern commercial requirements and cultural preservation.
