Basalt House is an architecturally significant residential structure located in the southern region of Syria, situated at an elevation of 1100 meters above sea level amidst a dense oak forest. This innovative dwelling, designed by architect Aamer Qaisiyah, masterfully synthesizes ancient Roman architectural elements with contemporary design principles, earning recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category. The residence, encompassing a total area of 1065 square meters spread across three levels, exemplifies a harmonious blend of historical inspiration and modern functionality. The structure's distinctive exterior features natural basalt stone cladding over double concrete block walls, complemented by expansive windows that maximize natural light penetration while maintaining interior comfort. The design incorporates sophisticated technological systems, including double-glazed thermal brake aluminum windows, water refining systems, and solar installations, alongside a comprehensive home automation system controlling lighting, climate, security, and other environmental factors. The architectural composition draws particular inspiration from ancient Roman structures in southern Syria, emphasizing simplicity and prestige while incorporating contemporary comfort and sustainability features. The building's material palette, dominated by basalt stone and oak wood, creates a powerful visual statement while ensuring durability against varied weather conditions.
