BT Space Office Design is an innovative architectural and interior design project located in Taiwan's Beitou District that masterfully integrates floating aesthetics, environmental harmony, and cultural heritage. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project, completed in March 2021, encompasses 274.38 square meters of interior space across two stories, exemplifying a sophisticated blend of modern design principles with historical elements. The design, conceived by Chia Chen Chang and Decoration Director Hsing Chun Lin, employs a distinctive floating theme realized through transparent glass facades that create dynamic interactions between the building and its surroundings. The elevated structure serves dual purposes: providing pedestrian space beneath while offering privacy and panoramic views of the forest park and mountains from the upper levels. The design's materiality is characterized by the thoughtful combination of recycled elements from the original building, transparent light boxes, and cold metal materials finished with mineral paint, creating a penetrating spatial experience that emphasizes both modernity and human-centric design principles. A particularly noteworthy feature is the innovative treatment of old iron window grilles, which were preserved and reimagined as illuminated glass-covered screens in the meeting areas, creating rhythmic patterns of light and shadow. The project's cultural sensitivity is evident in its incorporation of Japanese-influenced elements, such as grass futons, paying homage to the region's historical connection to Japanese hot spring culture while maintaining its contemporary commercial appeal.
