Baobab Garden Garden

Baobab Garden Garden is an innovative landscape design project that masterfully blends Asian and African cultural elements, centered around a remarkable bamboo-constructed baobab tree installation. This unique garden, spanning 50 square meters (10 meters by 5 meters), represents a harmonious fusion of Japanese garden aesthetics and African symbolism, created by French designer Amaury Gallon. The focal point of the garden is a meticulously crafted 3-meter-high baobab tree, constructed entirely from bamboo through an intricate assembly process requiring 220 bamboo sticks divided into 4,400 sections, demanding 140 hours of precise craftsmanship. The tree's trunk measures 1.20 meters at its widest point, with branches extending to 1.50 meters in height and spanning 3 meters in width. The garden's Japanese elements include carefully selected Acer specimens, granite lanterns, tsukubai water features, and traditional materials such as orange Saturn rocks and pebbles. A wooden pathway allows visitors to circumnavigate the central baobab tree, creating a contemplative journey through the space. The design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Landscape Planning and Garden Design category, demonstrates exceptional innovation in its self-supporting, fully dismountable tree structure, which can serve multiple functions including plant support, lighting, and artistic installation. The garden's design philosophy addresses contemporary environmental concerns, particularly forest conservation, while offering a serene space for reflection and relaxation amidst carefully curated botanical elements.
