Between Wall and Landscape Residence is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of modern living spaces with traditional East Asian design principles, completed in Taipei, Taiwan in 2022. This 105-square-meter residential space masterfully incorporates the concept of borrowed scenery, a fundamental principle in East Asian garden design, while creating distinct yet interconnected living areas through sophisticated material selection and spatial planning. The design achieves a remarkable balance between functionality and aesthetics through the strategic use of light wood veneer, metallic glass, and titanium-plated metal walls, each carefully selected to define different zones while maintaining visual cohesion. The residence features a thoughtfully configured three-bedroom layout complemented by specialized areas including a multimedia room, reading space, wine tasting area, and a dedicated collection display space, all designed to accommodate diverse lifestyle needs. The interior demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its material transitions, from wood latticework walls to bandage bedside walls and venetian blinds, creating a sophisticated layering effect throughout the space. The living room employs a warm color palette to establish an elegant atmosphere, while the dining area incorporates metal and marble patterns to achieve a light, refined texture. This project, which won the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases innovative space utilization and demonstrates excellence in contemporary residential design through its careful consideration of daily routines, aesthetic preferences, and functional requirements.
