Airland Hotel Shenzhen Hotel

Airland Hotel Shenzhen Hotel is a meticulously renovated small-scale resort hotel located on the Dameisha Golden Coast in eastern Shenzhen, China, distinguished by its innovative approach to space optimization and natural light integration. The architectural renovation project, completed in 2014, spans 21,460 square meters and exemplifies excellence in interior design through its thoughtful transformation of existing spaces. The design philosophy emphasizes minimalist aesthetics while maintaining functionality, incorporating natural landscapes and maximizing sunlight penetration throughout the interior spaces. The hotel's distinctive features include a carefully crafted buffer zone between the atrium and western-styled restaurant, where a cost-effective natural screen resembling a bamboo forest creates an elegant transition space. The interior design scheme draws inspiration from marine life, particularly evident in the western restaurant's color palette and the scattered pendant lighting in the atrium that evokes the impression of sea creatures in motion. The project demonstrates exceptional resourcefulness in material selection, primarily utilizing white paint for walls and ceilings, complemented by local materials for flooring to achieve a pure, natural, and romantic ambience. The design team, led by Creative Director Honglei Liu and Chief Designer Yuxin Yang, successfully transformed the classical European stairs into minimalist bowl-like Bird Nest forms that harmoniously integrate with the building's wavy architecture. The project's sophisticated material transitions, incorporating reflective glass, matt stone surfaces, and natural linen textures, create rich spatial layers and textures. This exceptional design achievement was recognized with the Platinum A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2016, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to contemporary hotel design and innovative space utilization.
