Backslash Communication is an innovative technological design system and protest communication toolkit that addresses the growing need for secure and effective communication methods during civil demonstrations and social movements. This groundbreaking design, created by Pedro Oliveira and Xuedi Chen, comprises a series of six hi-low tech devices specifically engineered to enable alternative methods of communication in protest situations through creative utilization of accessible technologies. The system represents a critical response to the increasing militarization of law enforcement and governmental surveillance, offering protesters tools to maintain connectivity as a fundamental human right.
