Beef Zavod Restaurant is an innovative culinary establishment that reimagines the traditional restaurant concept by integrating a butcher's shop aesthetic with contemporary dining experiences. Located in Saint Petersburg, Russia, this distinctive venue was designed by Evgeniy Evdokimov and Maksim Kirichenko, who transformed a historic carpet factory and repair plant into a sophisticated dining space that celebrates the art of meat preparation. The design philosophy embraces an inside out concept, preserving original architectural elements such as tiling, walls, and ceiling to maintain the building's industrial heritage while incorporating modern amenities. The space features a state-of-the-art meat processing line, an open kitchen centered around a prominent Grillworks grill, a wine bar, and a retail shop, all seamlessly integrated into the dining environment. The interior design masterfully combines brutal aesthetics with luxurious Italian furniture, creating a harmonious balance between industrial heritage and contemporary sophistication. Materials such as old wood, stainless steel, and Dedar fabric were carefully selected to enhance the authentic atmosphere. The restaurant's transparent design allows diners to observe all stages of meat preparation, creating an immersive educational experience. This innovative approach to restaurant design earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition, receiving an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2018, acknowledging its excellence in spatial design, functionality, and creative vision.
