Blast Taipei Bar is an innovative interior design project that revolutionizes the traditional bar concept by integrating the dynamics of beer pong gameplay into its spatial design. Located in Taipei City, Taiwan, this 370-square-meter establishment, completed in 2017, represents a significant departure from conventional bar layouts by placing the game area, rather than the bar counter, at the core of its spatial organization. The design concept draws inspiration from the pivotal moment in beer pong when a ball splashes into a cup, translating this motion into architectural elements through arc-shaped lighting, tiered flooring, and dynamic spatial flow. The interior architecture masterfully incorporates both traditional design elements and modern styling, creating an integrated concept that emphasizes mobility, order, and continuity. Distinguished by its innovative approach to social interaction and spatial organization, the venue features a centrally positioned DJ platform that enables the performer to engage directly with patrons, while ring-shaped motion lines facilitate fluid movement throughout the space. The design overcomes significant technical challenges, including the integration of complex mechanical systems within limited ceiling heights, while maintaining aesthetic coherence. Notable design elements include crystal ball chandeliers in the nightscape viewing area that evoke water splashes, synchronized floor lighting that responds to music, and a modern linear cement pillar behind the DJ platform symbolizing victory. This exceptional design earned the Golden A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2018, recognizing its innovative approach to spatial design and its successful creation of an engaging, group-oriented atmosphere that enhances social interaction.
