Beer Deer Packaging Concept is an innovative packaging design solution that reimagines traditional beer packaging through the lens of medieval heraldry, creating a distinctive visual narrative that bridges historical brewing traditions with contemporary graphic design. This sophisticated concept, developed by designer Dmitry Kultygin, employs heraldic shields as the primary design element, where each beer variety is represented through a unique shield division and field arrangement, complemented by stylized flags indicating the beer's regional origin. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, masterfully utilizes the natural texture of aluminum cans to create a brutal, authentic character while maintaining cost-effectiveness through minimal color usage. The standard 500ml aluminum can, measuring 168mm in height with a 66.2mm diameter, serves as the canvas for this innovative design approach. The concept's strength lies in its ability to differentiate itself in the marketplace through non-standard design elements that communicate brand values centered on brewing traditions. The design process, which spanned from April 2017 to July 2018, involved extensive research into heraldic shield history, construction rules, and their modern applications. The project successfully transforms medieval heraldic elements into a contemporary visual language, creating a unique packaging solution that stands out on retail shelves while maintaining a strong connection to brewing heritage and craftsmanship.
